The Magic of Winter – Close to Home!

GrIFK Alpine wants to give every child in the Helsinki region the opportunity to experience the joy of skiing with ease and accessibility. The club is building Winter Wonderland Lastenmaa – a free winter activity area designed especially for children. The project is being carried out in three phases: the first phase has been completed, and the second is currently underway.

Project Phases:

Phase 1: New children’s slope + rope lift
Phase 2: Second children’s slope + carpet lifts & new sledding hill
Phase 3: Third children’s slope & connection to the main slope

Once completed, Granibacken will form a unified ski area with a dedicated space just for children. The project will significantly improve opportunities for children to enjoy outdoor winter sports, enhance the area’s comfort and appeal, and increase safety. When the facilities are ready, the winter magic will be completed with lighting and charming fairytale-themed elements.

The project is carried out in cooperation with the city, but most of the costs are covered by the club. For example, modern carpet lifts represent a major investment. Therefore, all donations are deeply appreciated.
